Raspberry Leaf Tea: Benefits

Raspberry Leaf tea has to be one of my favorite and most beneficial herbal teas I drink. It carries a lot of benefits for pregnant women, but since I don’t plan on getting pregnant any time soon here are some of the other ways it benefits us:

* Has been shown to reduce menstrual cramps and may help to regulate the flow of menstruation due to its effects on the uterus.

*Helps to detoxify excess hormones which is very helpful during times of hormonal shift such as menopause or in the second half of the menstrual cycle (the two weeks before starting your period, which is when most women experience PMS).

Now, hold on fellahs it helps you out too:

* In herbal terms, it’s a “nourishing reproductive tonic” for men, which is just a fancy way of saying it helps “all the important stuff” work better.

* Its ability to detoxify extra hormones is helpful for men also since they are bombarded with artificial estrogens on a daily basis from commercial meat and milk, plastics, food additives, and chemical fumes (especially if they are in the construction business). These extra estrogens, along with too much unresolved stress over a lifetime, are major culprits in the phenomenon known as “andropause” or male menopause, which is characterized by a drastic drop in testosterone levels.

Divergent: Update

It’s getting closer and closer to March 2014, you know what that means (you better know) the “Divergent” movie is coming out. I am now on the 4th chapter of the book ( I know I’m not getting very far), but it’s full of excitement and when I do read it I can’t put it down. So my fellow “Divergenters”, are you joining me in my reading experience (again you better be)? Watch the “Divergent” trailer www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP07VfwwnUY&feature=youtube_gdata_player . 🙂

Fluoride in Water :-/

The national debate about keeping fluoride out of our tap water rages on. If you are concerned as I am, follow these few tips to cut back on your fluoride consumption.

1. Drink and cook with bottled water labeled “Spring Water”.
2. Use fluoride-free toothpaste. You can order it at www.vitacost.com or at a local health food store.
3. Eat less processed food. The more processed the food, the more fluoride it contains.
4. Avoid flavored drinks, sodas, juice drinks and sports drinks which may contain high levels of fluoride.
5. Check out these links and learn more about fluoride. 🙂

1 tsp. lemon juice (to stop apples from browning) (optional)

Toss ingredients into blender. Blend. Enjoy! 🙂

Goodbye Summer

On September 21, summer officially ends. The partying with friends, days at the beach, swimming or if your like me staying inside on the computer, eating all day and sleeping late, is all over. Now it’s back to the same daily routine, but lets look at the bright side…….. just kidding there isn’t a bright side (LOL). However, my fashion sense is at it’s peak in fall because I absolutely love sweaters. So my friends, what will you be doing this coming season? We will miss you Summer 2013! 🙂

Love at First Sight

“For me and my wife, it was love at first sight,” – Jeff Bridges. Dr. Earl Naumann, author of “Love at First Sight”, surveyed 1,500 people from all across America and came to the conclusion that love at first sight is not a rare experience. Also, Dr. Naumann theorizes that if you believe in love at first sight there’s roughly a 60 percent chance it will happen to you. Here’s what led him to make that theory:

* Nearly two thirds of the population believe in love at first sight
* Of the believers , more than half have experienced it
* Fifty-five percent of those who experienced it married the object of their affection.
* Three quarters of these married couples stayed married.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

1 ripe mango
